St. Luke’s Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (Non-certified) to perform routine tests in our clinical laboratories, following established procedures to ensure timely and accurate results.

Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field is required; this is a non-certified, entry-level position with growth potential. You will handle specimens, maintain instruments, assist with quality control and inventory, and work under supervision to support safe, high-quality patient care in a

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine tests on specimens in an accurate, organized and prioritized manner following laboratory procedures and policies to ensure quality and time guidelines in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements.
  • Collects a variety of specimens as required by specific section needs, with skill and sensitivity to needs of the patient.
  • Ensures specimens are properly identified, collected, labeled and stored.
  • Performs instrument maintenance according to section procedures.
  • Under direct supervision perform routine Quality Control, Linearity, Calibration, Delta Checks, on laboratory equipment.
  • May provide mentorship & training to others.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
  • Follows department policy maintaining all necessary records and documentation.
  • Ensures input is accurate and complete.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Handles basic issues and problems by following established processes and department procedures. The Medical Laboratory Scientist (Non-Certified) is beginning to develop working knowledge of technical subject matter. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan work and accomplish tasks.
