Job summary

Saint Luke's Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform state-of-the-art laboratory testing and phlebotomy across all ages, under Medical Directors and management. The role includes completing required competencies and performing additional duties as assigned.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's in medical technology, 2 years MT experience in acute care (or 1 year with a Master's), and national certification within 12 months of hire. Role may offer a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or equivalent as defined by CLIA regulations.
• 2 years as a medical technologist in acute care facility OR 1 year as a medical technologist in acute care facility and a Master’s degree.
• Registered with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS) within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform state-of-the-art laboratory testing, including phlebotomy, from neonates to geriatric patients.
• Ensure patient safety and complete established competencies within the introductory period.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Medical Directors and management staff, provides state of the art laboratory specimen testing, including phlebotomy, from neonates to geriatric patients ensuring patient safety. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent such as military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489 or have qualified at the Medical Technologist level by achieving a satisfactory grade on an HHS examination before 2/28/92 42 CFR 493.1491. The above meets the required criteria as defined by CLIA regulations for High Complexity testing (42 CFR 493.1489 and 42 CFR 493.1491).

Experience:

Required: 2 years as a medical technologist in acute care facility OR 1 year as a medical technologist in acute care facility and a Master’s degree.

Certifications:

Required: Registered with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA,AMT or CSMLS within 12 months of hire). Equivalency evaluation by ECE, NACES or AICE for non-US trained personnel must be completed within 30 days of hire. Licensure, as required by State. Once certified, no annual renewals are required.
