Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform a broad range of laboratory tests in Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Transfusion services at our Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT. You will ensure accurate results through QC, proficiency testing, calibrations, and instrument maintenance.

The role welcomes both Registered and Unregistered MLS candidates and requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, nights, and on-call shifts,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory/medical technology, or equivalent in chemical/physical/biological sciences from an accredited institution.
• MLS program completion with eligibility to sit for the BOC, within 6 months of hire if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performing laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and other body fluids to aid diagnosis.
• Analyzing test results for accuracy and reliability in patient care decisions.
• Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, calibration, and instrument troubleshooting.
• Implementing quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of results.
• Preparing samples and handling specimens per protocols to prevent contamination.
• Recording and reporting data in healthcare records and communicating with providers.
• Maintaining a safe laboratory environment and adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals on test results and patient care decisions.
