Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Reports accurate results and evaluates clinical significance of findings.
  • Maintains quality control and instrument function within tolerance limits.
  • Notifies critical results within required timeframes.
  • Identifies and minimizes errors; documents corrections timely.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting and escalates complex failures.
  • Supports new employees and students per procedures.
  • Performs functions per SOPs and regulatory guidelines including proficiency testing.

Job description

Summary

Performs laboratory testing and procedures in any/all areas of the laboratory and reports timely accurate test results.

Bridge Shift – Mondays - Fridays from 09:30 a.m. - 18:00 p.m.

Rotating weekends and holidays required with a 13:30 - 22:00 shift.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Reports accurate results, evaluating results for clinical significance and validity, and for recognition of atypical/abnormal results requiring additional follow up.
  • Ensures quality control is acceptable and instrumentation is functioning and maintained within defined tolerance limits and documentation is completed.
  • Completes all notifications of critical test results within required timeframes to appropriate caregivers.
  • Consciously works to identify and minimize errors and takes responsibility for correcting and documenting errors in a timely manner.
  • Performs basic troubleshooting for equipment according to standard operating procedures and escalates appropriately for more complex system failures.
  • Supports new employees, students and other healthcare professionals according to standard operating procedures, when requested.
  • Performs assigned laboratory functions according to standard operating procedures and guidelines established by regulatory agencies, including participation in proficiency testing and familiarization with regulations and quality indicators.

    • License/Certification required within six (6) months of hire. Requires one (1) of the following: MT or MLS.

Salary Information

Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Hourly Range: $31.25 to $46.87
