Job summary

Shifts are predominantly 8-hour, with start times at 6am, 2pm, or 10pm. Up to 2 weekends per month and holiday rotation; training requires availability 6am-2pm with some flexibility.

Qualifications

• MLT/MLS degree required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with laboratory customers courteously and professionally; respond to inquiries.
• Adhere to laboratory and hospital policies on procedures, quality control, safety and personnel policies.
• Follow procedures for collection and processing of specimens for analysis, ensuring sample suitability and stability.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative analytical procedures with precision and timeliness.
• Recognize critical, abnormal and unacceptable results and act per protocols.
• Identify factors affecting measurements and initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of techniques, instruments and conditions affecting results.
• Contribute to test development and instrument evaluation/selection.
• Perform High Complexity Testing (as defined by PA DOH) without direct supervision.
• Provide first-line supervision of the section/department when delegated.
