Job summary

St. Catherine Hospital in Dodge City, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to accurately analyze and report tests and assist patient care decisions.

Responsibilities include performing cytogenetic testing, ensuring timely reporting, operating laboratory instruments, and maintaining QC with regulatory compliance. A sign-on bonus of $7,500 is offered to eligible hires.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA.
• Must be appropriately trained in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Performs cytogenetic testing with a high level of competency according to established protocols.
• Generates and reports results which are used for making accurate diagnoses and prognoses, which influences patient care and management.
• Responsible for accurate and timely result reporting, including communication and documentation of critical results.
• Utilizes critical thinking skills and exercises independent judgment to correlate and interpret data.
• Responsible for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments and appropriate documentation of activities.
• Completes required QC and maintenance, consistently recognizing variances and documenting appropriate corrective action.
