Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Lehi, Utah seeks a Medical Lab Scientist to accurately analyze and report tests ordered by Medical Staff, ensuring timely results and adherence to laboratory procedures and regulatory guidelines. You will work to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.

You will perform a variety of laboratory tests with precision, documenting findings and collaborating with healthcare providers to support critical data for patient care decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA
  • Must be trained in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory
  • MLS (ASCP) or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs cytogenetic testing with a high level of competency according to established protocols
  • Generates and reports results used for accurate diagnoses and prognoses affecting patient care
  • Responsible for accurate and timely result reporting, including communication of critical results
  • Uses critical thinking and independent judgment to correlate and interpret data
  • Responsible for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments with proper documentation
  • Completes required QC and maintenance, recognizing variances and documenting corrective action

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Lab Scientist, you will accurately analyze and report all tests ordered by the Medical Staff, ensuring timely results and adherence to laboratory procedures and regulatory guidelines to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.

Every day you will perform a variety of laboratory tests with precision, meticulously document findings, and collaborate with healthcare providers to contribute critical data for patient care decisions.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail in laboratory testing and reporting, a deep understanding of regulatory guidelines, and a commitment to providing high-quality diagnostic information for patient care.

  • Performs cytogenetic testing with a high level of competency according to established protocols.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely result reporting, including communication and documentation of critical results.

  • Utilizes critical thinking skills and exercises independent judgment to correlate and interpret data.

  • Completes required QC and maintenance, consistently recognizing variances and documenting appropriate corrective action.

We are offering up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements

Pay Range

$31.63 - $45.88 /hour
