Job summary

UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital in Highlands Ranch, CO is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform diagnostic testing, interpret and report results in a fast-paced, onsite laboratory. The role is full-time with night shifts and is paid hourly based on experience.

Location: UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital, Highlands Ranch, CO

Department: HRH Lab

Work Schedule: Full Time, 64.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Nights

Pay: $33.82 - $50.73 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary

Performs laboratory testing of patient specimens in one or more sections of the laboratory.

Responsibilities
  • Performs diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens. Interprets, documents and reports test results.
  • Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Complies with good laboratory practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs projects as assigned as well as serves as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/sub‑specialty as applicable to job responsibilities. State licensure if required by law. Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
