Job summary

Nicklas Laboratory Staffing seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist for a travel/short-term to permanent opportunity in Arcadia, LA. Start ASAP; End date 2027-02-05; schedule M-F, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; weekly pay includes meals, lodging, and travel.

Responsibilities include clinical testing, QA/QC, and instrument maintenance with emphasis on CLIA/COLA compliance. Requires MLS certification, LA license, and a Bachelor's in Medical Technology; strong communication and teamwork required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science.
• MLS certification (ASCP or equivalent) is required.
• Louisiana license required.
• Experience in clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Proficiency in quality control and instrumentation maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical laboratory testing and analysis.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot advanced instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA and COLA standards.
• Maintain documentation and quality control records.
• Communicate findings with pathology team.

Schedule: M-F, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Weekly Estimated Pay or Pay Range: $1,400-$1,500 (Includes hourly rate, meals & incidentals, lodging, round trip flight – taxed and tax-free income)

Requirements and Responsibilities

• Proficiency in Medical Technology and Laboratory Medicine practices
• Strong Laboratory Skills and experience in Pathology
• Knowledge and application of Quality Control processes specific to laboratory operations
• Ability to operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot advanced laboratory instrumentation
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain compliance with CLIA and COLA standards
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (e.g., ASCP or equivalent) is required
• Louisiana License
• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
