Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Laboratory team, providing high quality patient care through reliable testing.

The successful candidate will handle a range of routine and specialized laboratory tests, operate and maintain analyzers, and participate in reporting critical values. Certification and several years of experience in a clinical lab are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field with practical training.
  • Associate’s degree acceptable with appropriate experience.
  • Nationally recognized certification (MT/MLS/MLT) from ASCP or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of laboratory experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

  • Notify nursing units and physicians of critical lab values.
  • Implement new testing methods and instrumentation as technology advances.

Education
