Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin seeks a part-time medical interpreter to support staff and patients by facilitating complex communication in medical or community settings. This role requires working with parents or guardians and documenting translations when needed.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of interpreting experience, proficiency tests with 80%+, and Rohingya language skills. Travel between main campus Milwaukee and southeastern WI clinics is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years interpreter experience, preferably in a medical setting.
• Must pass verbal and written proficiency tests with an overall score of 80%.
• National certification must be completed within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates complex communication between staff and clients or patients, including parents or guardians, in medical or community settings.
• Provide interpretation, sight translation, and/or translation of documents; languages include Rohingya beyond Spanish.
• Exhibits guiding behaviors reflecting Children’s values and supports mission.
