About the Position

Located at Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Eisenhower GA. Serves as a Medical Instrument Technician within a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). Operates medical machines in support of cardiology tests and examinations.

Medical Instrument Technician (EKG) Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) assisting with cardiac diagnostic procedures such as stress tests, electrocardiograms, Holter monitoring, and cardiac event monitoring; 2) preparing patients, placing electrodes, and collecting basic cardiac data such as heart rate, blood pressure, and rhythm strips; and 3) assisting in instructing patients or medical personnel on proper use and understanding of cardiac monitoring equipment and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

OR

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Cardiovascular Technology.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
