Job summary

Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs seeks a Medical Imaging Technologist to perform radiographic procedures across modalities, including digital x-ray and fluoroscopy, in a fast-paced radiology department.

Responsibilities include imaging, patient care, safety, and collaboration with radiology staff. Graduate of AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program with NYS licensure and ARRT certification within 1 year. BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Licensure by the New York State Department of Health.
• Employees hired after 1/1/10 must obtain ARRT certification within 1 year of start date.

Responsibilities

• Imaging: perform radiology exams as ordered and operate digital x-ray equipment per department protocol.
• Patient Care: provide patient-centered care and ensure radiation safety.
• Communication: obtain and relay patient history to radiologist and maintain accurate patient logs.
• Equipment/Stock Maintenance: monitor stock levels and report maintenance needs per protocol.
• Technical: ensure studies are networked via PACS and enter data into Meditech; perform daily QA.

About the Role

We're looking for a dedicated Medical Imaging Technologistto join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our clinical team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. As the Medical Imaging Technologist, you will p erformall radiographic procedures efficiently using various imaging modalities (routine radiography, digital and spot fluoroscopy, mobile imaging, trauma, surgical, tomography) at a technical level that requires independent judgment. You will also participatein student teaching.

What You'll Do

• Imaging: Responsible for performing radiology exams as ordered by providers to assist in the treatment and diagnosis of patients. Operates Digital x-ray equipment to perform diagnostic procedures according to MI department protocol. Positions and performs diagnostic x-ray according to established policy and protocol and according to patient's age specific needs.
• Patient Care: Provides care and service to patients which meet their age specific needs. Ensures appropriate radiation safety techniques are utilized on all patients.
• Communication: Obtains and relays pertinent patient history to radiologist. Maintains accurate patient log for permanent records. Verifies physician order and ensure that patients are properly identified and prepared for exams.
• Equipment/Stock Maintenance: Maintains stock level in Medical Imaging area and reports special purchase orders to Medical Imaging Supervisor. Takes appropriate action in the event of equipment failure; following Radiology downtime protocol.
• Technical: Ensures all studies are networked via PACS system immediately upon completion of exam.
  • Responsible for promptly entering data into the Meditech system upon procedure completion.
  • Performs daily Quality Assurance and reports any problems to service engineer.

What You Bring

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. Licensure by the New York State Department of Health. For employees hired after 1/1/10 must obtain Certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T) within 1 year of start date. BLS required.
