Job summary

DecisivEdge, based in Newark, Delaware, seeks a Medical Illustrator to join the 5thPort Patient Education team. You will create medically accurate illustrations and contribute to patient education content from concept to final delivery.

You will collaborate with Project Director and creators to translate complex medical information into clear visuals for patients and caregivers, supporting scripts, storyboards and multimedia content.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Medical Illustration, Biomedical Communications or closely related program.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating medical/scientific illustration and visual communication.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and life sciences.
• Ability to translate complex medical concepts into clear visuals for a lay audience.
• Strong visual storytelling and creative problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and relevant illustration, animation, video or multimedia tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable participating in client meetings and discussing concepts.
• Experience collaborating with healthcare professionals and internal teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to medical and scientific accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Create medically accurate illustrations and visual assets for patient education materials.
• Translate complex medical concepts into clear visuals for patients and caregivers.
