Baptist Medical Center South is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical ICU on 7A, full-time, day shift. You will supervise and coordinate nursing activities on your shift and ensure quality patient care in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

Required: nursing degree with active RN licensure and BLS; BSN preferred; ACLS/PALS/NRP TNCC may be required depending on area. Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills are essential; expect a fast-paced environment with lifting

The RN will collaborate with Physicians and other healthcare clinicians in the planning and implementation of patient care. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.**Education/Experience**: Degree in Nursing required, BSN degree preferred.**License/Certification**: Active RN licensure required, BLS required, Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**: • Ability to observe, assesses, and record work, safety and infection control standards. • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.**Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**:Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals.
