Job summary

Qualifications

• Aesthetician license in IL.
• Diploma or certificate from an accredited aesthetician program.
• 0–2 years of experience in a medical spa or dermatology setting.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience with laser and light-based treatments, chemical peels, and skincare products in a medical setting.
• Specialty certification as required (permanent cosmetic).

Responsibilities

• Performs cosmetic consultations when recommended by provider.
• Operates laser safely for hair removal and skin rejuvenation; maintains a sanitary room.
• Captures pre- and post-treatment photos per HIPAA guidelines.
• Promotes additional services and cosmetic products.

Job description

The Medical Esthetician, under the clinical direction of the Medical Director and the administrative direction of the Practice Administrator has the authority and accountability for providing, planning, selling and organizing activities relating to the quality of the patient's cosmetic care.

• Performs Cosmetic consultations when recommended by provider.
• Safely operates the laser to administer laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation treatments within the specifications of the equipment manufacturer and the physician. Maintains a safe and sanitary treatment room.
• Captures pre- and post-treatment photos adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Promotes additional services and cosmetic products.
• Evaluates effects of treatment, observes and notes patients response/progress, makes recommendations and adjustments as appropriate, provides cosmetic consultations. Maintains clear communication in Epic EMR.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Aesthetician, Licensed (IL)
• Diploma or certification of completion from an accredited institution for Aestheticians
• Zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience in a relevant role.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous experience with laser and light-based technology, medical-grad, chemical peels, and use of skincare products in a medical spa (Medi spa, med spa), dermatology, or plastic surgeons office.
• Specialty certification as required (permanent cosmetic professional).
