Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking an experienced echocardiography technologist to join the non-invasive cardiology echo team. You will perform 2D, M-Mode, color Doppler, pulse wave and continuous wave Doppler, transesophageal echocardiograms, and stress echoes to support high-quality patient care.

Dallas-based shift from 0700 to 1730, Monday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities. Requires RDCS/RCS credentials, BLS, and an associate degree echo program or accredited training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree echo program or accredited echo training program preferred.
• ACLS preferred
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required
• RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) required
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Philips ie33 and EPIQ, TEE probes and Epic preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists in performing echocardiograms including 2D, M-Mode, color Doppler, pulse wave Doppler, and stress echo.
• Ensures proper patient identification and safety.
• Maintains equipment and supplies; participates in quality assurance.
• Prepares echocardiographic worksheets for physicians.
• Completes forms and records for billing and documentation.

Your Job Requirements

• Graduate from an associate degree echo program and/or an accredited echo training program preferred. High School Diploma and/or GED
• Current American Heart Association ACLS preferred
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association required
• RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) required
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with equipment including Philips ie33 and EPIQ, TEE probes (to include the sterilization process), and Epic preferred

Typing And Computer Skills Preferred

Work Experience: 1 year hospital experience preferred

• Manages supplies and forms within the budget.
• Participates in required and continuing educations. Attends or completes all mandatory facility and departmental education requirements.
• Responsible for patient preparation to include assessing compliance with NPO status, patient transport, placement of electrodes, placement of blood pressure cuff, presence of IV access if needed, secures the use of EKG monitoring equipment, remains with patient at all times, offers assistance under the director of an RN, maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
