AMI Network in Southern California is seeking a Medical Director to lead outpatient psychiatry while maintaining a meaningful clinical practice. You will provide clinical leadership, physician oversight, and strategic direction, collaborating with psychiatrists, NPs, PAs, and research teams.

The role offers hybrid flexibility, opportunities to influence clinical strategy, and involvement in interventional psychiatry, research, and value-based care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO board-certified psychiatrists with independent practice experience.
• Strong leadership and ability to mentor physicians, plus collaboration with research teams.
• Experience with clinical quality, patient safety, or performance improvement.

You’ll provide clinical leadership, physician oversight, and strategic direction, working alongside Psychiatrists, NPs, PAs, Therapists, executive leadership, operations, quality, and research teams to elevate clinical standards, improve patient outcomes, strengthen physician performance, and develop innovative models of care.

As Medical Director, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Lead and mentor physicians while supporting recruitment, retention, and professional development

• Participate in clinical research, interventional psychiatry, and value‑based care based on your interests

What We're Looking For

• MD or DO | Board Certified Psychiatrist
• 3+ years of independent psychiatric practice
• Experience leading or managing physicians
• Experience with clinical quality, patient safety, or performance improvement
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to oversee complex psychiatric cases
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary leadership skills
• Ability to turn clinical strategy into practical, sustainable processes
