Job summary

HCRC consulting is seeking a Medical Director / Physician to lead medical management at a rehabilitation hospital in Aiken, SC. This role offers strong earning potential and a balance of clinical leadership with a Monday–Friday schedule.

The position emphasizes sprucing patient care, leading inter-disciplinary teams, and collaborating with nursing and clinical staff to ensure high-quality outcomes. SC licensure and PM&R/Internal Medicine background are preferred.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with South Carolina medical license is required.
• PM&R/Physiatry or Internal Medicine background preferred.
• ACLS certification required.
• DEA registration and applicable controlled substance registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical management for patients in a rehabilitation hospital setting.
• Perform histories, physicals and patient evaluations.
• Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions.
• Order and review labs, imaging and diagnostic testing.
• Review and approve rehabilitation care plans.
• Prescribe medications and coordinate specialty referrals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary patient care conferences.
• Collaborate with rehabilitation, nursing and clinical teams.
• Monitor patient progress and continuity of care.
• Provide clinical leadership as Medical Director.
• Work with leadership on policies and procedures affecting patient care.
• Attend required monthly meetings.
