Medical Director of Pediatric Advanced Heart Therapies at The Congenital Heart Center, Levine Children’s Hospital (Atrium Health). Leadership opportunity for an experienced pediatric heart failure and transplant cardiologist to lead a growing program and faculty at a premier children’s hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Congenital Heart Center is active in the Pediatric Heart Transplant Society and ACTION. The Pediatric Advanced Therapies Program includes two MDs, two APPs, three VAD/transplant RN coordinators, a dietitian and a social worker. The Center comprises 17 cardiologists, three congenital heart surgeons, eight cardiac intensivists, three pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, two pediatric cardiac radiologists, 20 APPs (including three surgical APPs), 16 sonographers, five nurse navigators and nine RNs. Services include advanced cardiac imaging, ICU care, regional referrals in heart failure/transplantation, catheterization, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease and fetal echocardiography. The program has grown to be the largest transplant center in the region for the past five years and includes a state-of-the-art two-lab catheterization and electrophysiology suite. A new outpatient office complex opened in December 2020, designed to treat patients from fetal cardiology to ACHD. Levine Children’s also offers a comprehensive Cardiac Neurodevelopment program and ongoing investigator-initiated and multi-center studies.
Levine Children’s Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 11-floor, 234-bed facility in Charlotte, NC, with PICU and CVICU coverage 24/7, plus a Progressive Care Unit, Inpatient Observation Unit, Pediatric Rehab Unit and Pediatric Emergency Department. Atrium Health is a large health system with thousands of physicians, employees and beds across the Carolinas. Integration of the congenital heart programs with Wake Forest University is underway.
