Job summary

NeoGenomics in Ramsey, NJ seeks a Medical Director & Hematopathologist for onsite leadership. The role reports to the VP of Medical Services and leads a pathology team, ensuring clinical excellence and regulatory compliance while driving strategic growth.

The position requires board certification and extensive leadership in a high-complexity laboratory, with responsibilities spanning medical liaison, education, and policy development.

Qualifications

• MD with board cert in Anatomic Pathology and Hematopathology.
• NJ medical license and director license or eligibility.
• Eligibility for NY CQ Certification.
• 15 years' professional medical experience.
• Experience with solid tumors and reference labs is a plus.
• Experience managing 5+ clinical/laboratory staff.

Responsibilities

• Advises the VP of Medical Services, CEO, Executive Team, and Board on clinical matters.
• Manages a diverse group of pathologists with a team approach to lab medicine.
• Participates in recruiting and retention of qualified staff pathologists.
• Trains and mentors staff pathologists.
• Reviews clinical staff performance for productivity and quality care.
• Provides medical consultation on patient management.
• Oversees department clinical workload and budgeting with senior management.
• Sets long- and short-range plans, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures qualified personnel with documented training/experience to perform testing.
• Provides educational direction to laboratory staff.
• Serves as Laboratory Director, ensuring CLIA, CAP and state compliance.
