All Creatures Pet Hospital in Gardendale, Alabama seeks a Medical Director to lead medical quality, mentor veterinarians, and drive a collaborative, high-performing team focused on exceptional patient care for small animals and exotics.

The role balances hands-on clinical duties with leadership, ensuring compliant charging, thorough medical records, and strong client communication, while fostering growth and continuous improvement within the hospital.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD required and active Alabama license.
• Active DEA registration for responsible practice location(s).
• Minimum 3–5 years of practicing veterinarian experience; leadership/mentorship preferred.
• Exotics experience welcomed but not required.
• Commitment to a minimum of 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Set and uphold medical quality standards; lead by example across hospital.
• Mentor veterinarians, ensure clinical proficiency and accurate medical records.
• Oversee vaccination charging, client education, and hospital culture.
• Lead meetings on medical standards, protocols, and hospital priorities.
• Collaborate with Practice Manager on scheduling, workflow, and inventory.
• Recruit, interview, and onboard veterinary talent; act as Responsible Veterinarian.
