The Cigna Group's EviCore division seeks a Medical Director with Cardiology expertise to lead evidence-based medical reviews for medical necessity and patient care. You’ll review diverse cases, consult providers peer-to-peer, and stay current with health regulations and industry developments.

This is a fully remote role with structured training and mentorship. You’ll collaborate with over 500 EviCore physician colleagues to ensure quality care, while leveraging your clinical judgment to

Qualifications

• MD or DO with current, active U.S. medical license and board certification in Cardiovascular Disease or Interventional Cardiology.
• Eligible to obtain additional state licensure as required.
• 3+ years of relevant clinical experience post residency/fellowship.
• Knowledge of state/federal laws and utilization review standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete time-sensitive, evidence-based medical case reviews for medical necessity.
• Conduct peer-to-peer physician consultations to discuss evidence and appropriateness.
• Recommend alternative services or treatments when appropriate.
• Collaborate with 500+ EviCore physicians to ensure quality care.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 207,800 - 346,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
