Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight of medical protocols and standards of care.
• Mentor and support associate veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
• Perform exams, diagnostics, surgeries (spay/neuter), dental procedures, mass removals as part of a regular caseload.
• Ensure compliance with state veterinary practice regulations and DEA requirements.
• Partner with practice management on quality, safety, and operational decisions.
• Support staff training, development, and performance standards.

IvyPets is a full-service, independently owned veterinary, grooming, boarding, and daycare facility located Brooklyn, NY. We're seeking an experienced, dedicated Medical Director to lead our clinical team and help shape the future of our growing practice.

Position Overview

The Medical Director will oversee clinical operations, set and uphold standards of care, mentor associate veterinarians and support staff, and serve as a key clinical leader within the practice. This role combines hands‑on veterinary medicine with leadership responsibility, ideal for a veterinarian ready to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight of medical protocols and standards of care
• Mentor and support associate veterinarians and veterinary technicians
• Perform physical exams, diagnostics, surgery-spay/neuter, dental procedures, mass removals and treatments as part of a regular caseload
• Ensure compliance with state veterinary practice regulations and DEA requirements
• Partner with the practice management team on quality, safety, and operational decisions
• Support staff training, development, and performance standards
• Assist in policy development for medical/clinical procedures

3 days a week/ 10 hour days

Sunday, Monday Tuesday preferred but negotiable
