Qualifications

• Active Arizona medical license or eligibility.
• DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
• Experience with adolescents or behavioral health preferred.
• Strong communication and collaborative leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment services.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning.
• Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, and academic teams.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices.
• Lead program development and clinical leadership.
• Weekly clinical treatment team/case consults.
• PMHNP supervision.
• ED/CD/Providers/DON on processes, meds, high risk cases, training/development for team etc.
• Peer to Peer reviews for authorizations.
• Restraint Orders Sign Offs.
• On-Call Consults (these do not happen very often but a couple times per year).
• Quarterly Med Exec Calls.
• Estimation of 60 hours per month.

Position Summary

The Medical Director is responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and clinical guidance while collaborating with clinical, nursing, and educational teams to promote integrated care and positive client outcomes.

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment services
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning
• Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, and academic teams
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards
• Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices
• Consult with families and treatment teams as neededContribute to program development and clinical leadership
