Job description

Medical Device Field Engineer - West Coast US

We are looking for Med Devices Engineers with hands-on experience supporting the installation and removal of diagnostic imaging equipment (CT, MRI, X-ray), or radiography units within healthcare or similar technical environments.

The Role

This role involves delivering on-site mechanical installation and upgrade work across imaging equipment, including executing field modifications, system removals, and new equipment setup. Over time, the scope expands into supporting a wider range of medical device technologies and service activities.

Core Responsibilities
  • Carry out installation, dismantling, relocation, and upgrade work on imaging systems within hospital environments
  • Interpret technical documentation such as schematics, CAD drawings, and site plans
  • Ensure structured and effective cable routing and system organisation
  • Use and maintain installation equipment including drilling tools, lifting systems, and mechanical handling devices
  • Accurately complete site reports, logs, and compliance documentation
  • Follow all technical procedures, safety standards, and operational protocols
Required Technical Experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience with mechanical installation and/or de-installation of complex medical devices equipment, within healthcare settings
  • Ability to understand and apply technical drawings and engineering instructions
  • Solid knowledge of installation tools and mechanical handling techniques
  • Familiarity with basic IT tools and system connectivity concepts
  • Regular travel to project sites, including weekly assignments
  • Comfortable with manual handling and physical installation work, including heavy lifting and positioning heavy components
  • Flexibility to support unscheduled or reactive site requirements, including occasional on-call work.
