Job summary

Calyxo, Inc. is a medical device company in Pleasanton, CA seeking a software engineer to design, implement, and verify real-time C++ software for urology medical devices.

You will collaborate across disciplines, contribute to automated testing and regulatory documentation, and mentor peers in a structured, regulated environment. Ideal candidates have strong C++ and Python skills, familiarity with Linux, and experience with design verification, risk management, and FDA-aligned processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or STEM with 3–5 years of experience, or 6+ years in software development for customer products.
• Advanced experience with C++ software development (3–5 years).
• Strong knowledge of OO analysis, data structures, algorithms and software architecture.
• Experience with unit, module and integration testing.
• Hands-on design verification experience in medical device development.
• Familiarity with risk management processes and FMEA.
• Experience with automated tests for software QA.
• Strong Python experience.
• Experience in Linux environments and CLI usage.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and development of test plans and verification protocols for software.
• Translate requirements into detailed software implementations.
• Write high-quality C++ real-time software for medical devices used in urology.
• Participate in design reviews and verification activities.
• Contribute to automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Ensure compliance with FDA guidance and applicable regulatory standards.
• Collaborate on software-related system validation and regulatory submissions.
• Mentor engineers and drive best practices.
