Medical Murray in North Barrington, IL is seeking a Fall 2027 Engineering Co-op/Internship. Join our R&D team to work on disposable medical devices from concept to production, applying Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering knowledge and CAD skills.

This hands-on role offers mentorship, exposure to quality systems, design prototyping with SolidWorks, and opportunities to support testing, budgeting, and project scheduling.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Familiarity with disposable design and development, materials knowledge, and prototyping is a plus.
• Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow our Quality Management System and SOPs to ensure compliance with all projects.
• Engage in the development and engineering of disposable medical devices from concept to production.
• Participate in hands-on product and process development, including design and prototyping of catheters and other disposable products.
• Utilize SolidWorks to design devices and construct prototypes in a laboratory environment.
• Collaborate on designing catheter-based delivery systems for various medical disciplines.
• Support acquisition, setup, and qualification of new equipment, contributing to preventive maintenance procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers about project status, timelines, and issues.
• Prepare and assist in product development and quality planning, including project schedules and budgeting.
• Participate in feasibility and reliability testing plans for catheter systems, developing and validating models.
• Assist in the development of pilot and manufacturing equipment and procedures, supporting the transition to full-scale production.
