Job summary

Medical Device Company in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Mid-Level R&D Engineer for a 12-month contract. The role requires strong design analysis, FEA/DOE, and design control experience.

You will drive product design, perform tests, generate technical reports, and collaborate with labs and manufacturing to meet cost targets.

BS/MS in engineering preferred; 3+ years in medical devices; SolidWorks, Minitab, and Abaqus experience a plus.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or closely related)
• Minimum of 3 years engineering experience; prefer 2 years product development in medical devices
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing in medical devices preferred
• Solid communication, team orientation, strong judgment in engineering analysis
• Proficiency with DOE, statistics, and design controls like 21 CFR 820.30

Responsibilities

• Drive design and development of product systems, subsystems, and components from design space and trade-offs.
• Maintain strong design control and apply DOE/statistical methods.
• Integrate product systems to meet business objectives and customer needs within cost targets.
• Identify tools and approaches to solve engineering problems using first principles, analytics, and experiments.
• Ensure rigorous design development processes and documentation; support manufacturing and quality.
