Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Project Engineer in Plymouth, MN to lead cross-functional project planning and execution for our Electrophysiology business. You will partner with R&D, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply Chain to ensure on-time delivery of project milestones and adherence to Abbott quality systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 4+ years in medical device settings, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 4 years of medical device experience in R&D, Manufacturing and/or Quality Engineering preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for all levels including suppliers and consultants.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a matrixed, geographically diverse organization.
• Ability to initiate, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and/or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Drive project planning, coordination, and implementation per Abbott methodologies and quality system requirements.
• Provide cross-functional project management, tracking milestones, risks, and deliverables.
• Support PMO activities including change orders, purchase orders, and project reporting.
• Coordinate sustaining engineering, supplier change, and continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and other teams.
• Maintain project plans, timelines, risks, and documentation in Windchill and other systems.
• Communicate project status, risks, decisions, and progress to stakeholders and management.
• Assist with resource planning and issue resolution to remove barriers.
