Qualifications

Role Summary

As a Floating Lab Technician, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in seed manufacturing operations. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage inventory, perform manual and automated assembly, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain accurate process documentation—all while living Theragenics’s core values of flexibility, professionalism, and customer focus.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with warehouse, shipping, engineering, health/safety, and quality assurance teams to meet manufacturing objectives.

Manage inventory of raw materials and processing aids for smooth daily operations.

Assemble cold subassemblies using manual or semi-automated processes.

Handle radioactive components safely in fume hoods.

Operate, start up, shut down, and troubleshoot automated welding equipment.

Wash, test, and inspect radioactive seeds for contamination and visual criteria.

Perform assay operations and radiographs of radioactive seeds.

Conduct counting and inventory management operations.

Ensure accuracy of paperwork for device history records, inventory counts, and lot traceability.

Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Report equipment or material issues to supervisors promptly.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support company needs.

Adhere to all company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent (required).

Experience

1 year of manufacturing/assembly experience (required).

Small part assembly experience (preferred).

Skills

Ability to work independently without constant supervision.

Initiative to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing business needs.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.
