Job summary

Radiometer in Irvine, CA is seeking a motivated Electronics Engineering Intern to join the R&D Sustaining Engineering team. You will redesign, test, and optimize electronic systems for medical devices, working with experienced engineers on projects with real-world impact.

You will gain hands-on experience with circuit design, PCB layout, and documentation while collaborating with software, mechanical, and regulatory teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Electrical/Electronics/ Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• Fundamental understanding of analog and digital circuit design and embedded systems.
• Familiar with schematic capture and PCB CAD tools for circuit design and simulation.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with engineers and stakeholders.
• Interest in medical device development and improving healthcare technology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct alternative component testing and validate prototypes.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and regulatory teams.
• Support troubleshooting and debugging of hardware using test equipment.
• Assist redesign and development of circuits and systems for medical devices.
• Document design specifications, test reports and reviews.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and propose improvements to device functionality and reliability.
