Job summary

Gore Medical in Phoenix or Flagstaff, Arizona seeks Design Engineers to design new medical devices or support existing products with a cross-functional team. The role emphasizes DFMA, design reviews, and meeting project priorities with diverse partners.

You will apply CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and regulatory standards (ISO 10993, 21 CFR 820, ASME Y14.5) while collaborating with IP and suppliers to deliver safe, manufacturable products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science with 4 years of design experience or Master’s degree with 2 years of design experience.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., Solidworks, CREO).
• Experience with R&D development cycles and technical design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and commercialize innovative medical devices and accessories, leveraging DFMA and design reviews.
• Work as a core team member to generate design concepts and develop detailed product designs that meet requirements.
• Document designs for patent or trade secret protection and collaborate with IP to submit disclosures when appropriate.
• Maintain and grow core design skills (CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis) and pursue relevant certifications.
• Deliver design packages with specifications, tolerance analyses, CAD models, material sets, and performance rationales.
