Job summary

MedSpeed is seeking a Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Silver Spring for weekend hours. You will drive a company vehicle to transport medical supplies and specimens, use a handheld scanner, and maintain safety and professional standards.

Training is provided and routes may vary by client needs. The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the flexibility to start/end shifts +/- an hour from listed times.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Must be 19+ with an active Drivers License (3+ years).
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with technology and devices used on the job.
• Ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screen.
• Comfort with lifting up to 50 lbs and walking long distances.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, and related materials in a company-owned vehicle.
• Operate a hand-held scanner to track items through the transportation cycle.
• Maintain professional appearance and interact with clients.
• Load and unload items and perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Adapt routes as needed based on client needs and company direction.
• Support teamwork and maintain a collaborative MedSpeed culture.

Silver Spring - $18.40/hr – Part Time

Saturday/Sunday, 5:00pm - 12:00am

*Candidates should have initial flexibility to start/end their day +/- an hour from posted time.

This position involves long distance driving throughout the DMV area.

What you will be doing as a MedSpeed Medical Driver:

• Most of your day will be spent in a company-owned vehicle, safely driving and transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail and related materials
• Operate a hand-held scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle
• Strictly observe operating policies, procedures and service schedules
• Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction
• Load and unload company vehicles with appropriate equipment
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior
• Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, neat and orderly vehicle
• Route duties vary based on client and business needs, and LSRs must be able to perform all duties across all routes they may be assigned. Route assignments may change from time to time.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation and adaptability with teammates and clients

What you need to become a MedSpeed Medical Driver:

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Must be 19 years of age with an active driver’s license for 3 years

• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points
• Ability to pass initial and random drug & alcohol screen
• Drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions
• Must have an excellent driving history
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination depending on location and local mandates
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• While drop-off and pick-up responsibilities may vary and routes may be inconsistent, the ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands is always required
• Must have able to lift items off storage racks
• Must be comfortable walking long distances and standing for long periods of time
