Job summary

Banyan Health seeks a Medical Coding Specialist to translate clinical documentation into ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for billing across behavioral health, psychiatry, and primary care. You will ensure timely coding and posting while supporting the revenue cycle and compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and state regulations.

You will collaborate with the billing team, educate physicians on proper coding practices, review HEDIS-related activities, and generate reports for supervision.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience as a certified coder.
• CPC or CCS certification required.
• Experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, and primary care coding.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and ICD-9 coding conventions.

Responsibilities

• Translate diagnoses, procedures, and services into standardized codes for billing across Banyan services.
• Ensure charges are coded and posted within 72 hours.
• Collaborate with billing to resolve claim edits and improve reimbursement.
• Clarify documentation with providers to improve coding accuracy.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and stay current with CMS regulations.
