Qualifications

• Active CPC or CCS coding certification required.
• 2+ years of medical billing experience.
• Urgent Care or Occupational Health billing experience preferred.
• Experience with payers, AR, revenue cycle, and denials.
• Experience with billing software and EMR systems; Epic is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Audit provider documentation and CPT/ICD-10 codes for accuracy.
• Evaluate documentation supports diagnoses and charges billed.
• Identify coding errors and documentation gaps; recommend improvements.
• Review deliverables from coders, physicians, and other professionals.
• Provide constructive feedback and coding education to staff.
• Stay current with CMS/state payer coding rules and updates.
• Collaborate with leadership to improve documentation and reimbursement.
