Job summary
Serco Inc. is seeking an experienced Medical Coding Auditing Specialist to support the Defense Health Agency's MCPB across DHA markets, including CONUS and OCONUS.
The role includes audits of Military Treatment Facilities and dental clinics, with travel for onsite visits as needed and participation in virtual meetings and conference calls. Candidates should have seven+ years in medical coding/auditing, hold professional coding certifications (RHIT/RHIA/CPC/CCS-P and institutional ones), and
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of ICD-CM/PCS, HCPCS and CPT.
- Understanding of PPS, DRGs, APCs, and RBRVS.
- Strong medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology.
- Experience with revenue cycle management and audits.
- Knowledge of coding regulations and documentation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine audits across DHA-MCPB sites (MTFs and dental clinics).
- Assist in developing annual work plans based on enterprise risk factors.
- Conduct targeted coding/documentation audits as directed.
- Support DHA-MCPB in audits used for government surveillance of contracts.
