Primary Responsibilities:

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and official coding guidelines for outpatient hospital professional accountsAssigns CPT and ICD-10 codesMonitors assigned work queues to ensure all records are charged/coded in a timely mannerGenerates coding queries for clarification regarding physician documentation as neededStays abreast of all changes in coding conventions and coding updatesAbility to manage significant workload, and to work efficiently under pressure meeting established deadlines with minimal supervisionModerate work experience within own functionSome work is completed without established proceduresBasic tasks are completed without review by othersSupervision/guidance is required for higher level tasksYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GEDProfessional CPC coder certification with credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC to be maintained annually5+ years pro-fee coding experience in Orthopedics and podiatry servicesIntermediate knowledge of Medicare guidelines and modifier applicationIntermediate level of experience in Epic and working with denials*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.

The hourly pay for this role will range from $20 to $36 per hour based on full-time employment.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
