This position provides coding and coding auditing services based on operative reports according to correct coding principles, current NCCI rules and LCD coverage determinations. This includes the analysis and translation of medical and clinical diagnoses, procedures, injuries, or illnesses into designated numerical codes. The coder also acts as a liaison to the physicians and clinical teams and provides feedback to physicians and management staff regarding proper documentation and coding and works within company standards to maintain policy and procedures. Meets coding and abstracting deadlines to expedite the billing and charge entry process and ensures best practices are met according to departmental policy and procedures. This team member will be proficient in all areas to ensure cross coverage.

Job Type: Full Time$49,730 – $61,442 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s Degree
Required: Minimum of 2 years of physician billing to include at least 1 year of coding experience abstracting from medical record documentation.
Diversified understanding of CPT guidelines and Medicare rules and regulations.
Preferred: N/A
Required: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required
Preferred: Radiation Oncology Certified Coder (ROCC), Certified ASC Coder Credential (CASCC)
Required: Knowledge of ICD-9/10 codes, CPT, and HCPCs.
Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
