Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Hospital Registration Supervisor to lead our admissions team. You will organize workflow, supervise scheduling, delegate training, and coach staff to improve accuracy, throughput, and patient experience in a fast paced acute care setting.

The role requires 2+ years in hospital registration leadership, strong MS Outlook/Excel skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to flex shifts.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of supervisor/leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting or medical office.
  • 2+ years of healthcare registration experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Google.
  • Intermediate experience with healthcare software including imaging, billing, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of insurance contracts and government programs (Commercial, Managed Care, Government).
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to work a flexible shift.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate Leadership and Analytical Thinking capability
  • Organizes workflow to ensure accurate and timely team performance
  • Supervises the work schedule, ensuring adequate and appropriate coverage of all positions at all times
  • Selects, and delegates training and orientation of new staff; assigns staff responsibilities, and evaluates performance
  • Counsels employees on problem areas of registration and performance
  • Works with staff to develop personal development plans, identify areas for improvement, and improve performance
  • Performs interviews, performance appraisals, provides coaching and feedback to staff adhering to the policies and procedures of the admitting department
  • Provides input for, and ensures staff compliance with, established organizational policies, objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards
  • Possesses knowledge and ability to leverage technology, optimize the utilization of internal resources and improve the quality of work and information flows
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as assigned
  • Attends, and sometimes leads departmental meetings and contributes with suggestions, ideas and methods to improve quality of department / hospital operations
  • Reviews operational reports, identifies opportunities and problems and makes recommendations for improving customer service, patient throughput and process flow
  • Generates enthusiasm and commitment among Saint Francis Memorial Hospital employees; fosters and reinforces tan based results

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of supervisor/leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting or medical office
  • 2+ years of healthcare related experience in registration
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Google
  • Intermediate level of healthcare computer software i.e. imaging, billing, and reporting experience
  • Intermediate level of experience working with insurance including Commercial Contracts, Managed Care, and Government Programs including Federal, State and local agencies
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Proven ability to work a flexible shift

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $60,200 to $107,400 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
