Job summary

Munson Healthcare in Grayling, MI is hiring a Medical Business Associate (Receptionist). You will be the first point of contact for patients and families, delivering a welcoming, professional experience and gathering essential information.

You will verify patient and insurance data, enter it into the registration system, schedule appointments including referrals and tests, and greet patients over the phone and in person to set the right tone for every visit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience as Medical Practice Business Associate or similar healthcare role.
• Proficient in typing, Windows, and multiple computer systems.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for patients and families, delivering a welcoming, professional experience.
• Obtain/verify patient and insurance information and enter into the registration system accurately.
• Schedule patient appointments, including return visits, referrals, and diagnostic testing.

Schedule: 40 Hours Weekly - Monday - Friday on Days from 8AM - 4:30PM

A Day in the Life

• As a Medical Business Associate (Receptionist), you are the first point of contact for patients & their families. Your personal interaction and efficiency start the path for an exceptional experience of care, wellness, and healing.
• You will obtain/verify all required patient and insurance information and enter the information into the registration system in an accurate manner.
• You will schedule patient appointments which may include return office visits, referrals, diagnostic testing/procedures.
• You will set the tone for the visit! You will greet patients professionally in person and over the telephone and respond effectively to patients and their families.

Qualifications

What’s Required - Specialist

• High school graduate or GED. Associate Degree Preferred
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Medical Practice Business Associate or working in a similar healthcare role.
• Proficient in typing, Windows, and experience with multiple computer systems.

What’s Required - Associate

• High school graduate or GED
• 6 months to 1 year Customer Service experience required. Usually achieved by previously working with the public with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in typing, Windows, and experience with multiple computer systems.
• High school graduate or GED

Additional Information

Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
