Job summary

IPG Laser GmbH seeks a Director-level Medical BU Controller to act as the strategic Finance Business Partner to the SVP, Global Laser Systems & President, Medical. The role centers on turning finance support into proactive, strategic partnership across the Medical BU, driving financial leadership, planning, and performance management.

You will lead reporting transformation, KPI development, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, FP&A, and Controllership to improve global reporting

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of progressive experience in Finance, Controlling, FP&A, or business finance leadership roles.
• Strong background in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and decision support.
• Business partnering with senior stakeholders and BU leadership.
• Manufacturing, industrial, or operations-focused environments; medical industry differentiator.
• Translate complex financial and operational data into clear business insights.
• Advanced Excel and strong experience with financial systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools.
• Experience working in complex, matrixed, and global environments.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic Finance Business Partner to Medical BU leadership teams.
• Provide scenario analysis, financial modeling, and decision support for strategic initiatives.
• Deliver data-driven insights to influence business strategy and operational decisions.
• Own monthly financial reporting and KPI dashboards for the Medical BU.
• Develop and track operational and financial KPIs and BU P&L development.
• Lead cost analysis, margin improvement, and profitability management initiatives.
