DaMar Staffing in Ohio is seeking a Billing Specialist to review physician services, assign CPT and ICD-10 codes, and input data into the billing system for third-party payer submissions. This in-person role requires ICD-10 experience and strong data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review initial charges to determine CPT/ICD-10 codes for physician services.
• Interpret progress notes, operative reports, and discharge summaries to assign accurate codes.
• Enter coded charges and related data into the billing system.
• Contact physicians to discuss procedures billed and ensure proper coding.
• Review patient logs and reports to ensure all billable services are captured.

Job Knowledge:

Knowledge of current third-party billing and collection regulatory guidelines and requirements. Good interpersonal skills and a basic understanding of team management concepts. Ability to gather and interpret clinical data. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Billing Specialist Job Duties:

Performs initial charge review to determine appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes to be used to report physician services to third party payers. Interprets progress notes, operative reports, discharge summaries, and charge documents to determine services provided and accurately assign CPT and ICD-10 coding to these services. Reviews/enters appropriate data into the Billing System by selecting the appropriate codes, diagnosis, modifiers, etc. Contacts physicians through management regarding procedures and other services billed to ensure proper coding. Responsible for reviewing patient logs and other report of clinical activity to ensure billing is captured for all patients. Monitors and follows up to ensure all services that can be billed are captured and coded for billing. Responsible for ensuring the batch processes for all coded charges. Assists in error resolution. Reviews all physician documentation to ensure compliance with third party and regulatory guidelines. Works in coordination with members of the outside billing service company. Answers patient questions and concerns Prepares bank deposits. Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information. Provides front desk coverage as necessary.

Pay:

$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
