Position SummaryThe Medical Billing Coordinator reviews unbilled reports and evaluates accounts to determine reasons for accounts in unbilled status. Resolve coding issues that do not allow accounts to be billed accurately. Responds to inquiries from internal departments related to resolution of coding or other issues to bill accounts.Minimum Position RequirementsWork Experience:One year of experience in patient billing or coding in a clinical setting.License/Registration/Certification:None.Education and Training:High School graduate or equivalent.Skills:Ability to utilize billing/coding and insurance office skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Good overall knowledge of Health Information Systems practices, procedures and guidelines.Ability to analyze and solve problems.Time management skills, with emphasis on ability to prioritize.Ability to seek out new methods and principals to improve services.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Detailed oriented.Knowledge of medical terminology.Strong customer service orientation.Strong computer skills.Ability to multi-task, multi-systems.
