Job summary

Harris House Foundation is seeking an experienced Medical Biller/Collector to join our finance team on site in Missouri. You will submit insurance claims, process payments, and help optimize cash flow while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

You will research denials, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with insurance carriers. The role requires 2+ years of medical billing/collections, proficiency with EMR and QuickBooks, and strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as a Medical Biller/Collector.
• Proficient with computers and various applications.
• Knowledge of Medical Billing and Collections.
• Experience with EMR systems and QuickBooks.
• AR experience required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and submit insurance claims for reimbursement in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process client payments, including charging credit cards, setting up payment arrangements, and following up on outstanding balances.
• Research and resolve claim issues, denials, and discrepancies to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Maintain effective communication with third party insurance carriers to resolve issues that impede cash flow.
• Monitor and report on key metrics such as aged receivables, collections, days outstanding, non-billed claims, denials, etc.
• Download insurance payments and remittance information from payer portals and forward to the accounting team for appropriate posting.
• Understand and comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations.
• Maintain friendly efficient, positive customer service attitude toward clients and co-workers.
