Qualifications

• Three (3) years of related experience and AS or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of medical insurance claims experience.
• Ability to read and interpret CPT and ICD coding (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Familiarity with CMS 1500 claim forms.
• Passage of a criminal background check, OIG exclusion, and drug screenings.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Process EOBs for third party payors.
• Reconcile patient accounts and correct errors.
• Submit adjustments and post recoupments.
• Distribute incoming payments and remittance advice.
• Manage follow-up queues for payors to ensure timely reimbursement.
• Address payor rejections.
• Verify benefits via patient and payer communication.
• Maintain document files for data backup.
• Stay updated with payor guidelines.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant billing practices.
