Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a Medical Billing professional to oversee the billing department, ensuring accurate documentation and monthly reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding knowledge and be familiar with NCCI edits and the Appeals process.

Responsibilities include researching charge information, coding procedures and diagnoses, entering data into billing systems, distributing billings, and supporting claim processing for Medi-Cal/Medicare while assisting with

• Code information about procedures performed and diagnosis on charge.
• Key data entry of charge information into online entry program and produce billing.
• Process and distribute copies of billings according to office policies.
• Establish and recommend credit and collection policies.
• Follow up with staff on accounts until balance is resolved or sent to collections.
• Assist with coding and error resolution, making adjustments to accounts as needed.
• Assist in processing of insurance claims, including Medi-Cal/Medicare.
• Prepare disability claims in a timely manner.

Applicants must have excellent computer skills and strong attention-to-detail as monthly reports will be required. We are looking for a strong candidate who understands ICD-10, CPT, HCPC coding, and has a firm knowledge of NCCI edits and the Appeals process.

• Participating with other staff to follow up on accounts until no balance or turned over for collection
• Assisting with coding and error resolution, making adjustments to accounts as needed
• Assisting in the processing of insurance claims, including MediCal/MediCare
• Preparing disability claims in a timely manner

Experience

• One year billing experience in a healthcare organization preferred
• Experience with Workers' Comp, Medicare, MediCal, HMO, PPO, EPO, Tricare, BC/BS
