Qualifications

• Medical Assisting Certificate of Achievement required for teaching clinical courses.
• RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA or CMAC certification common/required for WA; preferred for other states.
• BLS for the Healthcare Provider certification required.
• Two years of field experience in healthcare or related setting.

Responsibilities

• Delivers course material in accordance with the college curriculum.
• Fulfills administrative requirements for each course, including attendance, SLO assessment data, posting grades, and outreach to students.
• Utilizes student achievement and learning outcome data to develop program improvement strategies and participates in program reviews and evaluations.
• Demonstrates willingness to develop proficiency in applicable learning methodologies through continuous improvement.
• Ensures the program adheres to institutional, governmental, and accreditation standards.
• Participates in Industry Advisory Councils, Faculty Council, Assessment Council, and industry associations.
• Builds networks within the local industry for programmatic support.
• Engages in student service activities such as orientation, clubs, events, outreach, and career services.
• Provides proactive student advisement and tutoring.
• Involved in departmental and programmatic activities.
• Mentors new faculty and participates in mentoring programs.
• Aids in ensuring equipment and books meet standards.
• Assists in ensuring the program meets College standards (persistence, retention, graduation, examinations, placement).
• Maintains professionalism and accountability; collaborates with campus colleagues to support learners.
• Shows up on time and conducts classes for full periods; acts as substitute instructor as needed.
