Job summary

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare seeks a Medical Assistant/X-ray Operator to provide essential imaging services in Memphis. You will perform radiographic procedures, gather patient data, and support safety and infection control standards.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, clerical tasks, specimen handling, EKGs, wound care, and administering medications under physician direction. The role emphasizes compassionate care and teamwork in a high-volume clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical degree in Limited Scope Radiology is required.
• Preferred: Technical degree or diploma Medical Assistant.
• 1-3 years in a medical facility as a Medical Assistant or Medical X-Ray Operator.

Responsibilities

• Performs x-rays on specified anatomy under scope of practice, following patient care and safety procedures.
• Assists patients during visits, accompanies to exam room, and responds professionally to needs.
• Performs clerical duties: scheduling, lab calls, prior authorizations, chart retrieval, forms, and calls.
• Collects and records patient data (vital signs, history, allergies) and documents in EMR.
• May assist with physical exam preparations and basic wound care as directed.
• Performs EKGs, removes sutures/staples, and changes dressings as directed.
• Collects specimens for lab analysis and prepares patients for procedures.
• Administers medications and immunizations under physician direction.
• May authorize prescription refills and provide information to pharmacies as directed.
• Administers first aid or CPR in emergencies.
• Prepares and cleans rooms, maintains infection control, and restocks supplies.
• Provides patient education under supervising physician.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
