Job summary

Norton Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant - Xray to perform clinical and administrative duties in a medical office setting.

The role supports physicians and nurse practitioners, assists with direct patient care, and provides radiology support as needed. Ideal candidates graduate from a medical assistant program or have at least one year of MA experience, with LXMO/LXMOT/RAD/RADT credentials preferred and RAD within 6 months of hire if applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program or equivalent experience.
• One year as a Medical Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Taking patients to rooms and preparing them for care.
• Obtaining vital signs and assisting with medical procedures.
• Performing phlebotomy and obtaining lab specimens.
• Adhering to safety and infection guidelines.
• Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR).
• Calculating and administering medications and vaccines.

Medical Assistant - Xray perform administrative and clinical duties under the direct supervision of a medical provider – physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner – in the medical office setting.

The Medical Assistant works closely with the physician in the office clinical setting, assists with direct patient care, and serves as the clinical liaison between physician and patient and between physician and the office staff and offers the added skill of providing the radiology function. The incumbent is responsible for promoting communications among all care providers, patients, and office staff regarding the care plan for the patient as defined by the attending physician. The individual attends to patients utilizing the age appropriate principles of growth and development for patients of all ages according to the practice.

Clinical Functions:

• Taking patients to rooms

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of a medical assistant program (or) one year as a Medical Assistant
• One of: LXMO or LXMOT or RAD or RADT - Must obtain RAD within 6 months of hire if currently hold RADT.
